Bringing Awareness to a Good Cause
In our last newsletter, I made the joke: "Lord willing and the creek don’t rise, we will be launching this year’s awards on Monday, September 30th!"
If only I had known then what I know now.
This past week, people across East Tennessee and Western North Carolina (where a surprising number of podcast community members live) were devastated by Hurricane Helene. This region of Appalachia has experienced historic flooding, damage, and loss of life, and it is truly a miracle that our nomination phase launched on time since most internet providers were experiencing historic disruption.
I ask if you are so inclined and wish to be charitable, to please consider being charitable to our neighbors who have lost everything. United Way of East TN Highlands and United Way of Asheville & Buncombe County are excellent organizations to trust with your dollars, as they have boots active on the ground and are working hard to distribute relief funds where they can be immediately used.
